With everyone talking about Apple’s new iPhone 4, there’s no question it’ll be a hot seller, in large part due to Apple having developed a loyal fan base and name recognition.
But why are people so loyal to Apple, increasingly so with every new release of its phones? Other smart phones can do anything the new iPhone 4 can, from making video calls to surfing several websites at once to capturing HD quality video.
A large cause for the development of such a loyal fan base—such as the one Apple has created with its line of iPhones—is the complete experience offered in the product. Apple has taken great care to provide everything in one neat and tidy little package, in which everything works exactly as they intended right out of the box. This is all fine, except that this perspective ignores the proprietary nature of Apple.
